যীশু পিতরের কাছে এলে
পিতর বললেন প্রভু আমার
আপনি আমার পা ধুয়ে দেবেন
যীশু তাকে উত্তর দিলেন

Pitôr bôllen: “Prôbhu amar,
Apni amar pa dhuwe deben?”
Jishu take uttôr dilen: )
As Jesus came near Peter,
Peter said: “O my Lord,
You will wash my feet?”
Jesus answered him:

যদি না ধুয়ে দি তোমার পা
তোমায় আমায় থাকবে না যোগ
এখন আমার কাজ বোঝ না
একদিন তুমি বুঝতে পারবে

Êkdin tumi bujhte parbe.” )
“If I don’t wash your feet,
you and I won’t have communion.

তোমাদেরও কত না উচিত
ভ্রাতাদের পা ধুয়ে দেওয়া

tomader pa jôkhôn dhuyechi,
tomadero kôtô na ucit
bhratader pa dhuwe dêwa? )
Since I’ve washed your feet
as the Lord and the Teacher,
Should you not more so
wash the feet of your brothers?

পরস্পর যদি ভালোবাস
তাতে সবাই বুঝতে পারবে
