اوہ دھنّ ہے جو نہ منّدا ہے
صلاح شریراں دی
ਉਹ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸਲਾਹ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ
( Ouh dhann hai jo na mann’da hai
salaah shariiraan di. )
Blessed is he who does not follow
the counsel of the wicked.

نہ ٹُردا اوہ بُریاں دے
راہ تے کدی وی
ਨਾ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਉਹ ਬੁਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ
ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ
( Na turda ouh buryaan
de raah te kadi vi. )
He also never walks
on the path of the evil ones.

Verse 1 (Psalm 1:1b-2):

مخولیاں دے جلسے وچّ
نہ کدی بہندا اے
ਮਖ਼ੌਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਲਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ
ਨਾ ਕਦੀ ਬਹਿੰਦਾ ਏ
( Makhaulyaan de jalse vicc
na kadi behnda e. )
He never sits
in the assembly of jokers.

پر دِنے راتیں شرع نوں
اوہ سوچدا رہندا اے
ਪਰ ਦਿਨੇ ਰਾਤੀਂ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ
ਉਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਏ
( Par dine raatiin Shara nuun
ouh socda rehnda e. )
But day and night
he keeps contemplating the Law.

Verse 2 (Psalm 1:3a):

حال اوہدا اے اوہ بوٹے وانگ
جو لگّا پاݨی تے
ਹਾਲ ਉਹਦਾ ਏ ਉਸ ਬੂਟੇ ਵਾਂਗ
ਜੋ ਲੱਗਾ ਪਾਣੀ ’ਤੇ
( Haal ouhda e ous buute vaang
jo lagga paani te. )
His situation is like that tree
which is rooted upon the water.

پھل آپݨے ویلے دیوے گا
نہ پتّر سُکّݨ گے
ਫਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ
ਨਾ ਪੱਤਰ ਸੁੱਕਣਗੇ
( Phal aapne vele devega.
Na pattar sukkan’ge. )
It yields fruits at its own time.
The leaves do not wither.

Verse 3 (Psalm 1:3b-4):

اوہ آپݨے سارے کمّاں وچّ
پھل دائک ہووے گا
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ
ਫਲ ਦਾਇਕ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ
( Ouh aapne saare kammaan vicc
phal daa’ik hovega. )
He will become fruitful
in all his own works.

پر توڑی وانگر وا دے نال
بدکار اُڈّ جاوے گا
ਪਰ ਤੂੜੀ ਵਾਂਗਰ ਵਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ
ਬਦਕਾਰ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ
( Par tuuri vaangar vaa de naal
badkaar udd jaavega. )
But like the chaff the depraved
will fly away with the wind.

ਉਹ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ…

Verse 4 (Psalm 1:5):

شریر تے وچّ کچہری دے
کھلو نہ سکݨ گے
ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਦੇ
ਖਲੋ ਨਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ
( Shariir te vicc kacehri de
khalo na sakan’ge. )
And the wicked will not be able
to stand in the courthouse.

تے منڈلی وچّ سچّیاراں دی
بدکار نہ ٹھہرن گے
ਤੇ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ
ਬਦਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਨਗੇ
( Te mandli vicc sacciaaraan di
badkaar na thehran’ge. )
And the depraved will not linger
within the clique of the faithful.

اوہ دھنّ ہے۔ ۔ ۔
ਉਹ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ…

Verse 5 (Psalm 1:6):

کیوں جو یہوواہ پاک خدا
راہ جاݨدا صادق دا
ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾ ਪਾਕ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ
ਰਾਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸਾਦਿਕ ਦਾ
( Kyun jo Yahowa Paak Khuda
raah jaan’da saadiq da. )
Because YHWH the Holy God
knows the path of the truthful.

پر راہ جو ہے شریراں دا
سو اُڈ پُڈ جاوے گا
ਪਰ ਰਾਹ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ
ਸੋ ਉਡ ਪੁਡ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ
( Par raah jo hai shariiraan da
so ud-pud jaavega. )
But the path that is of the wicked
will thus be no more.
