يا نوراً بهيّاً
لِقدسِ مجدِ الآبِ الذي
لا يموتُ السماويّ
القدّوسُ المغبوط
( Yaa Nuwran bahiyyan
li-qudsi majdi l-’Aabi lladhiy
laa yamuwtu s-samaawiyy,
al-qudduwsu l-maghbuwṭ, )
O radiant Light
of holiness, glory of the Father who is
immortal, the heavenly,
the holy, the blessed,
يا يسوعُ المسيح
إذ قد بلغنا إلى غروبِ الشمس
ونظرنا نوراً مسائيّاً
( Yaa Yasuw3u l-Masiy7,
’idh qad balaghnaa ilaa ghuruwbi sh-shams
wa-naẓarnaa nuwran masaa’iyyan, )
O Jesus Christ,
as we have reached the sunset
and seen the evening light,
نُسَبِّحُ الآبَ والاِبنَ
والروحَ القدس الإلٰه
( nusabbi7u l-’Aaba wal-Ibna
war-Ruw7a l-Qudus, al-’Ilaah. )
we praise the Father and the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, God.
فيا ابنَ اللهِ المُعطي الحياة
إنّك لَمُستَحِقٌّ في سائرِ الأوقات
أن تُسَبَّحَ بأصواتٍ بارّة
لذلك العالم لك يُمَجِّد
( Fa-yaa Bna Llaahi l-Mu3ṭiy l-7ayaat,
’innaka la-musta7iqqun fiy saa’iri l-’awqaat
an tusabba7a bi-’aṣwaatin baarrah.
Li-dhaalika l-3aalam laka yumajjid. )
So O Son of God, the Giver of life,
indeed You are worthy at all times
to be praised with righteous voices.
Therefore the world glorifies You.
