Lyrics

( Evlogitos i,
Khriste o Theos imon,
o pansofus tus aliyis anadixas,
katapempsas aftys to Pnevma to Agion )
Blessed are You,
O Christ our God,
who appointed fishermen as all-wise,
sent down to them the Holy Spirit.

( Ke di’ afton,
tin ykumenin saginefsas.
Filanthrope, doxa Sy. )
And through them,
You fished the inhabited world by net.
O Philanthropist, glory to You.

Bible Quotes

[ Patriarchal Text, 1904 ]

Matthew 4:18-20

[ English Standard Version (ESV) ]

While walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
